The BBI AGM 2020 was due to take place on 18 March, but due to the global pandemic and government advice the decision was made to postpone the meeting until the next date that was reserved for the management committee meeting on 13 May.
With restrictions still in place, the meeting again was again destined for postponement. However, it was decided to try and gather the trustees together via a Zoom conference meeting.
This was very successful as all trustees logged on and firstly listened to a very informative presentation from James Hayley Bell of Brewin Dolphin, The BBI investment managers regarding the performance of the funds over the last 12 months. This was followed by the AGM, where trustess were joined by Richard Billinghurst of Knox Cropper, The BBI Accountants to review the last 12 months accounts.
Dennis Williams, who has been part of the BBI for almost 30 years, stepped down as trustee at this years AGM. Mr James proffered a vote of thanks for Dennis who has been a ‘long standing and committed’ trustee, having attended almost all the meetings over his time with the BBI. He will be sadly missed at the meetings.
In extraordinary circumstances the meeting ran smoothly and all necessary business was completed. However the trustees do hope they can meet up in person for their next meeting in September.
